More about our Interim Volunteer Coordinator: Raven comes to CJJC with an interest in affordable housing accessibility for disenfranchised populations. CJJC sparked her interest “because of its grassroots approach to advocacy for social justice,” said Raven. Raven has a background in affordable housing work. . The West Oakland native is a graduate of UC Davis and currently enrolled in their Community Development Master's program. “I want to gain a better understanding of the issues facing low-income residents in the East Bay and I see CJJC as a perfect avenue for this,” said Raven. CJJC has about 80 volunteers who do everything from stuffing envelopes to outreach to helping support the Tenant Rights' Clinic. Said Molly, “Our volunteers play a vital role in the organization. They strengthen the organizational infrastructure and help us win campaigns for tenant and immigrant rights. There are lots of opportunities for people to get involved and that’s exciting. I’m going to miss everyone but it feels great that I’m leaving the job in very capable hands. See you in December!” Raven says she’s eager to work with staff, members and volunteers on furthering the mission of CJJC. Now is a great time to get involved with CJJC!
