How will our trip to Detroit will advance our local work?

Causa Justa :: Just Cause sees the Social Forum as a critical movement-building opportunity where organizations from different sectors and regions come together to build and deepen relationships to advance our collective work on a national and international level. Through our participation in the Forum CJJC delegates can both learn from and contribute to further developing the national formations our organization is most closely allied to including - Right to the City (RTTC), Grassroots Global Justice (GGJ), the Inter Alliance Dialogue (IAD) and the National Network for Immigrant and Refugee Rights (NNIRR). Some of the specific activities our delegation will engage in include the Urban Congress, workshops led by international movement leaders like Via Campesina and the World March of Women, and participating in work brigades to support local Detroit community development projects.

Leading up to the forum, we are hosting seven political education sessions for CJJC members and staff to prepare for the trip and to ensure that we get the most out of our time there. The U.S. Social Forum is an enormous opportunity for us to strengthen and advance our work, and this is why we are asking for your support to get there.

·       $75 will help to house the delegation.

·       $50 will register members of the delegation for the USSF.

·       $20 will cover one delegate’s meals for a day.

·       $10 will cover transportation between workshops throughout Detroit.
