Join the Unity Fund Campaign!

The Unity Fund is a one-year campaign, launched on September 17th, 2009, to make our merger a success by raising $100,000 in donations from individuals. The Unity Fund Campaign will dramatically increase the amount of support Causa Justa :: Just Cause receives from grassroots donors, members and supporters. We know that the future success of the organization will depend on consistent, reliable support from our constituency and those who believe in our mission. We have developed a plan that will engage every sector of supporters. There is a place for you to be involved.

Latest News from the Unity Fund Campaign

Thanks to hundreds of people contributing their creativity, spare change, and networking skills to the Unity Fund Campaign, we have already raised $73,438 from individual supporters! With three months left, we’re now inviting everyone to come help us raise the remaining $26,562 we need by CJJC’s Anniversary Celebration on September 16th.

There are now more ways than ever to get involved in the Unity Fund Campaign! Do you walk or run? Join Causa Justa’s All-Star Team and run the 5K in the San Francisco Marathon on July 25th. Do you feel passionately about language access and Black-Brown unity? Organize your friends, family, and study abroad classmates to send CJJC grassroots organizers to study Spanish in September. Do you like to party? We’re always looking for folks who might be interested in hosting a fiesta, benefit show, movie night, or cocktail hour to raise funds for CJJC’s ongoing work to achieve racial and economic justice.

However you would like to participate, there’s space for you in the struggle to build Black-Brown unity in the Bay Area, because la unión hace la fuerza: Unity is Strength!

The first step in supporting the Unity Fund is by making a donation yourself. We are asking every supporter to sign up for a $10 monthly donation for one year. By giving monthly, you don’t hurt your bank account and you give us a strong, sustaining source of support for the coming year. Of course, one-time donations are also welcomed. Run for Justice in the SF Marathon

Causa Justa :: Just Cause is pacing to win the marathon, not the sprint. To demonstrate, we’re going to take part in the San Francisco Marathon on July 25th. As the only race to run the roadbed of the Golden Gate Bridge, the team race will celebrate Causa Justa :: Just Cause’s work bridging the divisions between Latin@ and African-American communities, building Black-Brown unity to achieve housing and immigrant justice for low-income residents of Oakland and San Francisco. As part of our team, you will receive a t-shirt, take part in a beautiful event, raise funds for a fierce grassroots organization by collecting donations from your sponsors, and celebrate with us in a post-marathon party.  If you are interested in joining the contingent and running the 5K, half marathon, or full marathon, please contact Alia at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. There is no better way to raise money than to get your friends together, have some food and drink, tell them why Causa Justa :: Just Cause and the struggle for grassroots community justice means so much to you, and ask them to write a check. Whether you're interested in hosting a backyard barbeque, a lavish three-course brunch, a raucous board game night, or a benefit show, you can improve your social life while supporting the fight of low-income tenants and homeowners to stay in their homes.
